What is it: A hack to make the output of dosearch.php look more like UBB Classic.

I've seen a lot of people request this one, so I figured I'd move it to the finished mods.

I wrote it during the same time frame that I was just starting to learn PHP, so Rick Baker gave me a lot of help on this one (truth be known he practically wrote it himself over the course of about a week).

Normally I don't like making Threads look like Classic, I like Threads just the way it is. But the search results that the standard dosearch.php file returns isn't user friendly for people who are use to the Classic version, and I ran a Classic board that I converted to Threads. My users wanted the "old" search results, so here they are

This hack finds the searched words in the first
post of the thread but not in the other posts
(like the third post of a thread).

Users are writing saying that the new search
hack wouldn't find search words completely in
all the posts of a thread. I verified this.

Any suggestions?

I haven't noticed. Have you tested the search page before and after the hack?

The areas that I changed were connected with the posts in the last x number of hours, but limited to one return per match. If it's causing the search to be partialy disabled then I'll take the hack down until I have tome to go over it.
